Louisiana bureaucrats block social worker so she went around them

Louisiana's Health Department told her she couldn’t work because her business wasn’t needed. How does the government know if a business is needed? The market should decide. Bureaucrats say blocking businesses like hers helps “limit the burden on regulators." That is absurd. “That’s just not a legitimate excuse that the government doesn’t have enough money to administer people’s constitutional rights.” says Anastasia Boden of the Pacific Legal Foundation. She’s helping Newell-Davis sue Louisiana.

Commentary: Our Independence Day

July 2, 2023 - The Farce of July is almost here again. That is its proper name, because it is farcical to “celebrate” what has been lost, and pathetic to pretend it hasn’t been lost. Even to the extent, in most states, of being allowed to celebrate what has been lost - with
fireworks that have been banned.

The banning of fireworks - real ones, not the digital ones that spew forth a showy but meaningless show of sparks as opposed to the ones that explode and fly (and sometimes, both) - being a kind of leitmotif of our lack of independence.

July 4, 2023 - Matt Taibbi talked in London about what he and Michael Shellenberger found in the Twitter files. He realized the free speech battle has evolved into something new - where reality is altered and people are coached into forgetting what they saw, and censoring themselves. A kind of mass digital brainwashing.

Michigan House passes “hate speech” bill to fine and jail parents, teachers, pastors and politicians who speak truth

Submitted by Freedomman on Thu, 07/06/2023 - 11:17

LANSING, Michigan (PNN) - June 27, 2023 - The fasci st Michigan State Legislature is pushing forward a new and patently unconstitutional “Hate Speech” bill that threatens anyone who speaks
the truth on a variety of controversial and inherently offensive topics. The proposed unlawful legislation (which will be overturned by the courts), HB4474, does more than threaten the First Amendment and free speech rights of Amerikans. The proposed legislation amends the state’s Ethnic Intimidation Act of 1988 - making it a “hate crime” if a person causes “severe mental anguish” to another individual.

A Conversation with Liberty

Brent:   It is a genuine honor to be sitting here speaking with you today. I must admit, though, that you seem a bit peaked. Are you feeling ill and is there anything I can do to make you more comfortable?

Liberty: Thank you for your kind words. I am feeling somewhat sick today. Actually, I've been feeling sick for quite some time now. Each day the symptoms appear to get worse. I am honestly not sure if I will survive this illness. However, there are several things you can do to help me. If enough people pitch in, I believe that my condition will improve. With enough help I may even be able to acquire the cure, which is very expensive.

Thomas Jefferson's pre-July 4th (1775) Declaration to Bear Arms

June 26, 2023 - Most people know Thomas Jefferson was the primary author of the Declaration of Independence. But how many know a year earlier, in 1775, he penned a U.S. Declaration to Bear Arms?

A year prior to Congress' adoption and ratification of the Declaration of Independence, the members were signing a declaration to pick up arms against England; and Jefferson was again the primary author.

Jefferson wrote the Declaration of Independence when he was only 33 years old, the youngest member of Congress. He penned the Declaration of Arms when he was just 32.

A rural microschool gets shut down by fascist State regulators

HAKALAU, Hawaii (PNN) - June 21, 2023 - Ariel Maguire gathered together with other moms in her rural area of the Big Island of Hawaii to create a child-centered educational solution for local families. It was late 2021 and the parents realized that nearly two years of pandemic policies had left their children behind both academically and socially.

There weren’t a lot of childcare or early-education options nearby. “The closest place to send our (children) would be a little over an hour drive each way and it has a huge wait list,” Maguire said. “We were all struggling because we'd been stuck at home with our (children) without community for a couple of years and needed to get back to work.”

So Maguire and the other moms decided to build what they couldn’t find. They established their program, Kulike Learning Garden, as a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, as well as a private membership association, or PMA, that works legally like a social club to facilitate
voluntary association within a cooperative community of shared roles and expectations. They hired an experienced Waldorf teacher, and opened their Waldorf-inspired, child-focused, nature-based microschool on a family farm in January 2022 with about 15 children, ages three to six. Parent volunteers shared in the teaching responsibilities.
