PARIS, France (PNN) - January 12, 2015 - Amid the tears, sorrow and defiance of the unity march in Paris on Sunday, there was nonetheless at least one moment that managed to raise a smile.
While cameras focused on the moment that the president of the republic, François Hollande, embraced Patrick Pelloux, the doctor and columnist at Charlie Hebdo who was one of the first to the scene after the attack, they also captured some unexpected footage.
LONDON, England (PNN) - January 12, 2015 - A proposed British law creates a serious threat to academic freedom and free speech. The law seeks to force universities to take action to stop young people from being exposed to extremist ideas and speakers. The law is consistent with a trend toward greater speech regulation in the West.

January 9, 2015 - It will come as a surprise to absolutely no one when I say that I have no sympathy for the crypiggies who've begun blubbering, since the mess at Ferguson, about how dangerous their "profession" is and how some kind of special steps have to be taken now to protect them. Ahead of national elections in May, Cameron said that if re-elected, he would seek to ban encrypted online messaging apps unless the Fascist United Kingdom government is given backdoors.

OKLAHOMA CITY, Oklahoma (PNN) - January 6, 2015 - An Oklahoma state lawmaker is proposing legislation that would make it more difficult for drivers facing DUI charges to buy alcohol.
Senator Patrick Anderson’s bill asks the state to develop a system that would block people arrested for drunk driving from purchasing alcohol during a time period to be determined by a judge.
