BRUSSELS, Belgium (PNN) - July 28, 2015 - NATO's secretary-general said Tuesday that the alliance "stands in strong solidarity with our ally Turkey," as ambassadors gathered for a rare emergency meeting about the threat faced by a member.

Turkey requested the extraordinary meeting to gauge the threat the Islamic State extremist group poses to Turkey, and the actions Turkish authorities are taking in response, including attacks on Kurdish rebels.

Texas launches gold-backed bank to challenge Federal Reserve

AUSTIN, Texas (PNN) - July 15, 2015 - The State of Texas is setting up a gold-backed bank that will allow depositors to bypass the unconstitutional and corrupt Federal Reserve System and its fiat currency in banking and commerce, according to the state representative who authored the recently enacted law. Under the measure, passed overwhelmingly by lawmakers and signed in mid-June by Republican Governor Greg Abbott, Lone Star State officials will establish and operate the Texas Bullion Depository for anyone who would like to deposit and trade in precious metals. The implications are as big as Texas.
